SEATTLE – April 8, 2022 – The Washington State Convention Center Public Facilities District, the Northwest’s premier meetings and events facility for nearly 33 years, today announced plans to change its name and visual identity to better align with its hometown. The rebranding solidifies the organization’s commitment to maintain a fiscally responsible, self-sustaining operation that contributes economic and other civic benefit for the city, county, and state.   

Effective April 18, 2022, the Washington State Convention Center (WSCC) will be known as the Seattle Convention Center (SCC). The SCC campus is now composed of Arch at 705 Pike, the original building; Arch at 800 Pike, formerly known as The Conference Center; Summit, opening one block north on Pine Street in January 2023; and three parking garages.

The new SCC logo, with a color palette that embodies the natural elements of its namesake city, represents the fresh perspectives cultivated by guests as they collaborate, innovate, and celebrate in the facility.

“Seattle Convention Center isn’t just for conventions. Both buildings are designed to serve as a hub of activity where the community can intermingle with event attendees to enjoy dining, retail, and an expansive art collection.” said Frank Finneran, Board Chair, Washington State Convention Center Public Facilities District, parent organization of SCC.

“This is a tremendous milestone as we prepare to launch Summit, the additional building, in January 2023,” said Jeff Blosser, President and CEO, SCC. “The updated brand captures the enduring vibrancy the convention center contributes to downtown Seattle, both in terms of revenues generated by meetings, but also by event attendees as they explore Seattle, the Puget Sound and Washington State.”
